RACE UPDATE
Our deepest thanks to all who joined us at the 5th Annual Race For Grace! The kindness and generosity displayed by the committee chairs, volunteers, runners, walkers, spectators, corporate sponsors, and individual donors is truly appreciated. This year’s Race was yet another record breaking event, as both registration and fundraising goals were surpassed. Between the 2,164 registered runners and walkers, 300 volunteers, and estimated 400 spectators, the total number of nearly 2,900 attendants is absolutely amazing. Even more incredible is the total amount of money raised -- over $105,000 -- exceeding our expectations once again!
In the past five years, the Race For Grace has now raised in excess of $342,000. Because this fundraiser continues to provide the majority of our revenue, it allows the Reflections Of Grace Foundation to fulfill its mission of supporting families with love, giving children hope, and fighting pediatric brain cancer with grace.
This being the 5th Annual Race For Grace was a difficult and emotional milestone for us, but looking around on March 31st, it was evident that Grace was at work. We are humbled to see such growth and unity for the cause year after year. The overwhelming success of the 5th Annual Race For Grace would not be possible without the unwavering support of the community. Although words do not seem adequate, we thank you most sincerely and wholeheartedly.

HOW WE’VE HELPED

Since its inception in 2008, the Reflections Of Grace Foundation has given grants totaling $108,000 directly to 76 families of children fighting brain cancer. These families are located not only in the Western Pennsylvania area, but scattered across 26 other states throughout the country. One grant issued during this period truly embodies the mission of the Foundation – it helped a family of a child with brain cancer travel to St. Louis, MO for treatments, after their local hospital in Joplin, MO was leveled by an EF5 tornado in May 2011. In addition, the Foundation has contributed $65,000 toward promising research grants that aim to discover better treatment options and to raise the much needed awareness for pediatric brain cancers.
MAY IS NATIONAL BRAIN TUMOR AWARENESS MONTH
Your help is needed to spread awareness that May is an important month for our cause. The first week of May is commonly recognized as Brain Tumor Action Week. Take action with us! Wear a gray ribbon, share Grace's story, raise funds by selling Sarris candy bars and pretzels, or click below for more information. Thank you in advance for helping us educate the world about pediatric brain tumors and DIPG.

CANDY FOR A CURE
To recognize May as National Brain Tumor Awareness Month, the Candy For A Cure fundraising program is ready to launch again. By partnering with Sarris Candies, each candy bar and package of chocolate-covered pretzel rods will feature the Foundation’s butterfly, web site, and an awareness statistic. For those located in the Pittsburgh area interested in participating by selling candy bars and/or pretzel rods, please email
